Fatal Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 21, 2010, 3:57 AM

Hi all, :fear:
So I just got told by the dentist that the wisdom tooth I had to have removed was going to be fatal if I had have left it in my mouth for 2 months longer. Im a bit shaken by that and luckily he was able to remove it on the spot but the symptoms he described as things that can be caused because of a fatal tooth are things I have been experiencing quite often and I just put them all down to not having a great diet or something. In fact it was my body slowly shutting down.
Anyhoo, its out now and my jaw is very swollen and i am so doped up on painkillers that Im surprised I can even write this but yeh, just thought Id let u know whats going on.

Everyone have a wonderful week and if u have to get a wisdom tooth out dont put it off. It could be fatal.

Lotsa luv,
Nichelle

Yeh me too, the healing process however is proving quite tedious.

Please don't tell me they had to cut them out and didn't give you stitches?

I got stitches but got dry socket in the process of healing. Exposed jaw bone is no way to heal properly and also amazingly painful!!

I spent three days bleeding from the jaw, no stitches and no pain relief. The anesthetic lasted that long in the blood stream and in my stomach, because I couldn't eat without eating my own blood. The doctor said this was okay.

To keep your strength up my experience is chicken noodle soup, vitamins and lots of sleep and rest. Beef broth and tea are good too. The point is lots of protein and vitamins. I had the flu, years ago, to the point it almost killed me. Doc said if I had waited another day, I might not have made it. He said that was a really good way to regain my strength.

With the teeth, lots of saltine crackers. I couldn't even eat soup. If it wasn't for the crackers, I don't know what I would've done. I couldn't even eat a slice of bread without getting sick.

Something else that will help is a saline nasal spray. It's an amazing help with the flu. When I had the flu again a few years back, that kept me from going nuts with constant sinus problems. I found out later that the flu resides significantly in the sinus cavity (which is sizable) and the saline helps kill most of the virus. Salt is so good for sooo much. :D

If you try any of these and they help let me know, please. I want to know you're getting better. :)

I wish you well.

P.S. It might help to think that your immune system is the Red Queen and she's having fun hunting down all the nasty bugs that are making you sick. Good luck.

The nasal spray is working a treat and chicken noodle soup is always made of win. Havent been able to track down the crackers but I'm starting to get better now I think.
